New partnership between FHORM and Bôndy

Published on: 14 June 2021

The Federation of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs of Madagascar (FHORM) has entered into a partnership with Bôndy, a social enterprise carrying out impact and sustainable reforestation projects in Madagascar.

Despite the current situation and the difficult economic context for the tourism sector, the FHORM, representing the actors of the accommodation and catering industry, is committed to the reforestation of Madagascar.
Indeed, the tourism sector is closely linked to Madagascar's biodiversity and short-term problems should not make us forget long-term commitments.

The objective of this partnership is the reforestation of at least 2,222 trees in Analamanga, Madagascar, among Bôndy partner farmers by December 2021.

The 2,222 trees will be planted at 5 partner farmers' homes in the Andramasina - Analamanga region. The planting of these trees will allow, in addition to the environmental benefits, to stimulate local entrepreneurship and will have direct benefits for the owners of the plots.

This partnership represents a fruitful long-term collaboration between FHORM, Bôndy and Malagasy biodiversity. The aim is to repeat this operation every year.
